Recently my snapshots stopped being taken. They were set to Smart / Daily. I used the "Power Timer" scheduler to turn the NAS off at midnight every night, and previously snapshots were taken at a f...

Delaying the power-off by an hour fixes it and I can also keep using Smart Snapshot, which should in theory delete snapshots in a sensible way. But, as stated above, Smart Snapshots did delete ALL my snapshots except my first manual ones, which seems wrong to me, because monthly snapshots are supposed to be "kept forever", which they were not! This seems to be another bug.
I have noted that NetGear technical people read these Community Messages and pick up anything that relates to firmware issues, so I am hoping they will spot this. My NAS is out of the 3 month complimentary Help period, which makes it a little difficult to contact them directly. However I will try to point them at this message. It's a bit long-winded and they don't make it easy!

I agree that the monthly snapshots should have been kept, so that is a bit confusing to me also.
Coordinating backups, snapshots, and maitenance schedules with a power schedule is harder than it should be - and usually requires keeping the NAS running longer than needed. Having a finer-grained power schedule (minute scheduling) would make things much easier.
Power down should wait for for maintenance to complete. I don't think power down should wait for snapthots (esp. if power schedules included the minute field).
