Aug 24, 2011[solved] NVX won't boot - stuck at "installing addon"! case
Hi
I would really appreciate some help getting my NVX going again. I made the mistake of attempting to install super-poussin's uTorrent add-on.
My NVX is now stuck at "Booting...Installing addon" - Does anyone know how to fix this?
I've tried reinstalling firmware, but that made no difference. I'm guessing you have to telnet into the device using Putty, then...?
I wish I'd found this post before trying to install this add-on. They guy had the same problem, and it seems a 'jedi' fixed it but I've had no replies to the PMs to those who fixed it. Do you know what they will have done?
I opened a support case 13 days ago, and the Level 2's keep saying they escalated it & fixed, but haven't - we're on the 5th cycle of them saying that now.
I've left the unit in Debug Mode, but I don't know what to do next.

Thanks, I have updated the case online. I'm sure it will be another 24 hours before I get the 'we will escalate message'... - Retired_MemberThanks to the people on this board, this issue was resolved (apparently by logging in through telnet and running a xxxxxx.remove script somewhere).
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredThat would be a .remove script in /etc/frontview/addons for each add-on installed.
If you use SSH, you can remove an add-on by running e.g.
sh /etc/frontview/addons/xxxxxx.remove
