[Solved] ReadyNAS 104 - 6.1.5 USB3 problem
Logging in to the ReadyNAS this morning I was prompted that firmware 6.1.5 was available.
After reading the release notes I happily clicked upgrade.
On reboot I noticed my external backup USB3 drive was not showing in FrontView.
It turns out this is a known issue as posted by chirpa

Why the hell isn't this info in the 6.1.5 release notes as it's a pretty serious issue for me?
Question: Where can I download firmware 6.1.4 from so I can revert?

- super_poussinVirtuosoBad idea to revert
Use the front port for backup until they provide a patch - blacky1TutorThank you super-poussin. I didn't realise I could use that without reconfiguring the backups.
EDIT: Happy new year :) - aVe2000AspirantI updated to 6.1.5 with factory reset and copying all data back to the nas. I cannot confirm USB3 problems.
My drive (2.5 inch drive with 750 GB usb3 capable) is working properly.
There is something i did after 6.1.5 update: i ran
apt-get update
apt-get upgrade
Maybe thats the way new drivers/software came in?
Regards. - super_poussinVirtuoso6.1.6 RC3 is out and should solve USB3 problem and also I/O problem
- blacky1TutorThanks for the notification super-poussin.
I'm running the update now. I'll report back after I've run some tests.
EDIT: I can confirm that with firmware 6.1.6-RC3, connecting the external backup USB3 drive back to the top rear USB port now shows the drive mounted and recognised by FrontView. The Backup settings -> 'test connection' option now shows the drive as found. I have not actually run a backup but I have no reason to think it will fail now the drive is connected.
Thank you for the quick fix and the excellent support I've received from various members in this thread and via PM.
