Speed Issue on ReadyNAS 314 as vCenter 5.5 NFS datastore
Hello,
I'm using our ReadyNAS 314 as an NFS datastore for vCenter 5.5. I noticed after migrating a test VM to the NAS that the disk performance is very very slow. I looked at the network utilization for NFS and found that incoming connections are topping out at 10 megabytes per second, while outgoing are topping out at 80-105 megabytes per second. I am connected to a switch set to full duplex - I should be getting about ~100+ megabytes per second both ways.
Interestingly, when I set up a separate SMB share and move a file there, I get the expected ~100+ megabytes per second - it's just NFS via VMWare that is slow.
Please advise.
Thank you

Please make sure bit-rot protection is disabled and snapshots are disabled. If your share is configured incorrectly please create a new one and use that.
What is the NFS thread count for the NFS service and what have you configured regarding sync writes for the share?
