Squeezebox Touch doesn't see music on Pro2
I have been streaming music from an Ultra2 to Squeezebox Touch units (with Logitech Media Server installed on the NAS) for a good while now. All quite successful and a great system.
Given Squeezebox/LMS is now obsolete and Netgear have moved away from it, I have just taken the opportunity to buy a boxed, unused Pro2 as a backup unit. Updated firmware to 4.2.27 fine and installed LMS on the new unit. Access is fine from my PC and I have set a Music share, with a subfolder also called Music with albums etc. as subfolders of this. I can transfer files and folders to and from the Pro normally. This is exactly the same file structure as on my existing Ultra.
When connected to the Ultra, the Squeezebox gives me the options My Music/Music Folder and then lists all my music. When connected to the Pro, My Music is there but the sub-option Music Folder isn't. All other artist/album/song/genre etc. options show empty. So the Squeezebox isn't see the music in the Music share on the Pro.
I have now been working in vain for about 4 hours to try to figure out why this is. I am still a novice in this area, so I am really hoping some kind souls here can help me to figure this out. Any assistance will be very much appreciated.
Thanks,
Stuart

- StephenBGuru - Experienced UserMaybe go into the advanced options for the My Music share, and reset the permissions.
- ScrapmanAspirantThanks for the prompt reply Stephen. Wasn't that but sorted now purely by chance. After my first post I lost Frontview content so did an OS reinstall. Then of course had to setup again and all is fine now. I think it was the LMS PC software failing to associate the folder first time around. The joys of being an IT novice - worth it for a great media system, though!
