Start all over
hi there.. if i want to put in a new harddisk in my Readynas duo, which allready got movies on. Will they be deleted when i start the nas or will it just install the os and dont delete anything?

So first install a different hard drive of the same size, create shares on its C volume, and copy your files onto it over the network. Then install the drive with the movies as the second drive. It will be wiped, and you will end up with a RAID-1 C volume (protected against 1 drive failure). This will be the same size as your existing drive (not 2x).
RAID is helpful, but doesn't guarantee data safety. So you will need a backup of some kind - a USB drive perhaps.
