Streaming from ReadyNAS iTunes Server to Apple TV
Hi,
I wonder, if it is possible to stream from the ReadyNAS iTunes Server directly to an Apple TV. I cannot see the ReadyNAS iTunes library in ATV. I think it might be a problem with the home sharing feature that might not be supported from the built in iTunes Server. Does anybody knows a hint to manage this issue?
Thanks.

- herko1AspirantThe iTunes server on the readynas only supports MP3 (and non-DRM'ed at that). So it's only for music.
- spieAspirantAdditionally I guess the main problem is, that firefly only supports DAAP (iTunes shared libraries) it doesn't support Home Sharing for ATV. But I hoped that someone found a workaround.

- spieAspirantYes, mdgm... I'm waiting... http://firecore.com/atvflash-black. But first I wanted to know, if it is really necessary.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredIf you don't want to stream form a PC/Mac running iTunes, yes.
- grimlochAspirantIf forked-daapd was ported to readynas I believe you could stream directly from the NAS to the ATV.. and control it with iOS or Android iTunes remote. Wouldn't that be wonderful!
Sent from my MB855 using Tapatalk 2 - LaubackAspirantHmm. I don't have any experience with ReadyNAS specifically, but I do have a Synology. It does iTunes server emulation too. My ATV2 was able to connect to this and play media off of it (non-DRM media). It won't work with purchased items because that requires the 'real' iTunes program. Your ReadyNAS might use the same method. For most of the time, I like from laptop to my TV.
