"The data type is not supported" avi files on PS3!
I am getting this message only on some avi files i am trying to stream from my Duo. I have read a few thread about this but no real answers. I want to avoid converting these files to say mp4 as it takes ages!

- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredWhat service are you using to stream the files to your PS3?
- PapalazarouAspirantNot sure what you mean, I am using a wireless connection. The weird thing on my error is that some of the files work, some don't. For instance, I have a folder of Dexter episodes, of 12 episodes in the series, episode 1 shows the "this data type is not supported", episode 2 plays, episode 3 shows the error, episode 4 plays etc. They are all divx avi files, they are all within a mb or 2 of being the same size so I just cannot work out what is causing the error. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
- mdgm-ntgrNETGEAR Employee RetiredAre you streaming using ReadyDLNA or some other method?
What version of RAIDiator is on the ReadyNAS?
If using ReadyDLNA what version are you using? - PapalazarouAspirantReadyDLNA is enabled, as is UPnP, firmware is RAIDiator 4.1.7 [1.00a043], not sure how I check the version of ReadyDLNA if you could confirm I would appreciate it.
Thanks,
Jamie. - devilsrearAspirantcopy one of the files that fail to play to the ps3 - then see if that works.
At least that will elimate the netgear streaming issue
