Turning off jumbo frames - can't access frontview
Hi,
My readynas NV was very slow over a home network. I enabled Jumbo Frames to see if that would speed it up. Now i can't access the frontview interface. It is just blank. How do i recover? thanks.

- sphardy1ApprenticeAn OS reinstall (See FAQ for Instructions) would reset your network settings (and the admin password) to their default values. Your data & config would be otherwise untouched
- benjaminfryAspirantok. thanks. now what is the default user and password?
- NasinatorAspirantBefore doing that, you could try bypassing your switch and plugging directly into the NAS. If your NIC supports jumbo frames it should work. The default username and password should be admin, netgear1
- benjaminfryAspiranthi. i've got through the password screen. what i notice is that windows doesn't see it as a folder any more. it appears in network as a device, but not folders which i can browse. i can't find my data.
- StephenBGuru - Experienced Userwhat happens if you open "my computer" and enter \\nasname into the address bar?
- benjaminfryAspirantthat works. So how can i make these windows browse this like a normal network folder? i am connecting direct to the PC with ethernet.
- readynas1Aspiranttry login using the url: http://ipaddress_of_your_nas/admin
(default username: admin pass: infrant1) - benjaminfryAspirantwhat i would like is to go to "network" in the windows environment and to see the readynas as a folder. at the moment it shows up as a media player. it is directly connected by ethernet.

Since entering \\nasname\folder in "my computer works", the piece you are missing is that you need to map this to a network drive letter. You do this on your PC (on Windows 7 it is under "tools" on my computer).benjaminfry wrote: that works.
