Ultra 6 Replacement Drive Not Syncing
I've been running a ReadyNAS Ultra 6 Plus (latest official firmware) for some six years (and an NV+ for years before that), so when I got messages that one of the six 2-TByte drives (Seagate ST2000DL...

Just came across this thread again and thought I'd give those who have been following these travails with rapt attention some closure: Six months later, the system runs fine under OS 6 without any more disk troubles.

And a new chapter of woe begins in this saga:
About 24 hours ago, one of the 2 TByte drives dropped out of the array. Forcing a reboot and a resync which took about 24 hours. The drive otherwise appears to be fine and shows no ATA errors of any kind. That was bad.
Then, a few minutes ago, another of the 2 TByte drives dropped out of the array with the same consequence, leading to another lengthy, currently ongoing resync.
Both of these drives are Seagates with the CC32 firmware that, earlier in this thread, I was warned could result in such behavior. However, these drives ran for years without any problems under ReadyNAS 4.2.X. However, if under 6.X this is a persistent problem, as it appears to be, they obviously need to be replaced.
At this point, I'm afraid I'll have to buy another pair of 4 TBytes Seagate NAS drives and pull all the 2 TByte CC32 drives. That'll cost about $300, but it is something I had planned to do in the long run anyway.
