Unable access readynas from windows explorer

Hello

Yesterday my Netgear Ready nas DUO stopped and I had to reboot it.

Now I cannot acces it from Windows (8) Explorer. I have tried with two different computers and they all end up with the same error. "External unit will nor allow connection" translated from Norwegian.

Streaming access works fine and the RAIDar finds it. I can also acces the frontview but everything seems to be set the same.

Upon rebooting it the fan kicked into high gear and never slowed down.

Any ideas to what I can do?

  • This did the trick, thank you very much :)

PS: it also calmed down the fan :)

    Hi Sigbear,

    Welcome to the community!

Try to disable/re-enable the SMB or CIFS file sharing protocol of your ReadyNAS system. You may also want to try to use FTP to further isolate this problem.

Looking forward to hear your feedback.

    Kind regards,
