Unicode Issue?
I'm trying to copy my iTunes library from an older ReadyNAS NV+ to a brand-spankn-new 2120. This issue is that the 2120 seems to choke on unicode characters (or at least characters with umlauts, etc.)
Using an iMac, I've created two mounts, one to the NV+ and the other to the 2120. I then tried cp, rsync and ditto to copy the library over. I'm getting errors such as…
In rsync, it complains that the files have 'vanished'.
In searching this site I see references to allowing unicode in user, group and share names, but these are in file paths and names. Anyway, I couldn't find that option on firmware 6.1.4.
I did find a comment in the software manual… "ReadyNAS OS 6 supports unicode."
Any help would be appreciated.

- Well, I have some more information…
It seems the sensitivity is a function of the type of mount being used to connect to the source NAS (an NV+).
iTunes uses the (NFS) mount…nas2.controlsoftcorp.com:/media on /Network/media (nfs, nodev, nosuid, automounted, nobrowse)
Finder creates the (AFP) mount…
//sjf@nas2%20%28AFP%29._afpovertcp._tcp.local/media on /Volumes/media (afpfs, nodev, nosuid, mounted by sjf)
Only the AFP mount seems to have issues with umlauts. Rsync seems to have issues seeing the file. For example I did a directory listing of the same directory through the 2 mounts, and got the following results.
