One critical point I forgot to mention in my late might haste to post. I also installed the Samba_3_3_7_sparc_1.0.bin add on after the update. Since I was able to use Frontview to install this add-on the RAIDiator 4.1.9 is likely not to blame, but the add-on is. The question is how do I recover from this situation - how can I deinstall that add-on without access to frontview?
Thanks to those who have posted with questions and suggestions - here are the answers to those posted so far.
I've tried accessing with Safari, Firefox, Internet Explorer on Vista 64... none succeed. Strangely Firefox actually does server me up a skeleton of the frontview page, but completely unpopulated with content and most options. It says "ReadyNAS null" in the top right hand corner and when I click the logout button (one of the very few buttons in the skeleton) I get the message "Null".
Output from system log for time machine backup:
"Jul 16 09:36:54 localhost com.apple.backupd[25407]: Starting standard backup
Jul 16 09:36:54 localhost com.apple.backupd[25407]: Attempting to mount network destination using URL: afp://ReadyNas@NAS1.local/ReadyNAS
Jul 16 09:36:55 localhost com.apple.backupd[25407]: NetAuthConnectToServerSync failed with error: -6600 for url: afp://ReadyNas@NAS1.local/ReadyNAS
Jul 16 09:36:55 localhost com.apple.backupd[25407]: Authentication error - the correct user or password info may not exist in the System.keychain or the server may no longer allow access for this user.
Jul 16 09:37:00 localhost com.apple.backupd[25407]: Backup failed with error: 29"
So it does look a password problem, but I've tried correcting this in time machine settings and the problem persists.
IIRC I was running 4.1.6 prior to the upgrade.
