Thank you for the replies. It was a conflict - the culprits was one of my TPLInk range extenders.
I have changed the device to DHCP.
The firmware is updated to 4.1.15.
I can now see the server on my network, but cannot get into it.
Next step - what is the best recommended software interface for this device in order to move files to and fro?
The one I found on your site wouldn't load on my Windows 10 machine.

That is weird. It just wouldn't have it and I couldn't get in then, at the third time of asking, the thing opens up in File Explorer and all my old stuff is laid before me.
