Upgrade Ultra 4 and Pro 4 OS 4.2.31 to 6.9.3
Hi,
I've finally decided to take the plunge to upgrade my OS4-devices to OS6. It seems quite hard to find a reliable source for the needed upgrade files (PREP4TOR6 and R4toR6*.bin).
Is there anyone here that can assist me with getting hold of these files?
(btw. how to transform the official FW-img to an OS4-upgrade file?)
My bios_ver.log file states:
08/23/2011 ReadyNAS-NVX-V2 V1.10
Do I need to upgrade the BIOS and where to get hold of that upgrade file?

You’ve already got the latest BiOS for your system installed. So there’s no benefit at all from installing the BIOS update add-on.
Even if you had an old BIOS updating the BIOS would not have been essential, just optional.

I actually found the old mega-links to the upgrade files and could then compare and verify them with the upgrade file I created myself with the help of the instructions in e.g. this post:The PREPR4toR6 file was also there and doesn't seem conspicous.
Only question remaining is whether I need to upgrade the BIOS?
