Upgrading from Duo V1 to an RN102
Having had more problems than you can shake a stick at, I have ordered a pair of WD 3Tb Red drives and an RN102 NAS. Am I able to just pull the drives out of my Duo and expect them to work immediately...

mdgm's point is that you literally can't factory reset the v1 with no disks installed. "factory reset" means "do a fresh factory install on the disks". With no disks, it cannot be done.
If you can't access the NAS at all, then you could try powering it down, connecting disk 1 to a PC with SATA or a USB adapter. Linux Reader (http://www.diskinternals.com/linux-reader/) is a free software package that you can use to copy the data off. You could also try Netgear's paid support (support.netgear.com).
