Using a snapshot as backup source every night

My understanding is that if the backup is run on the source NAS that the backup job itself will create the snapshot and back the snapshot up.

That's right StephenB. If you look at the backend you will see the temporary snapshot.
Then that accomplishes exactly what I want.
Thanks for the clarification.
Support confirmed that a temporary snapshot is taken prior to a backup starting and the backup proceeds using that snapshot as the data source for the backup.
