I received the same email and it appears that when I try to initiate the install, nothing happens. My version is 4.2.24.
Are you manually installing, or using check-for-updates?

Well, I was following the email I was sent to update. See below:
Dear ReadyNAS® Customer,
We want to thank you for being a loyal customer and would like to notify you of a firmware update, V4.2.28, for your ReadyNAS. You can download it here.
The V4.2.28 firmware will be the last software release on all the select ReadyNAS products listed on the web page below, including yours, due to its end-of-life status.

As in most technology products, there is a natural life cycle. After a certain point, a product must be declared “end of life” due to its lack of market demand, or its aging technology being replaced by newer and more advanced ones.
You can continue to get support from other ReadyNAS customers and our experts at the ReadyNAS community.
We invite you to review replacement products available to you on our website, offering higher performance, more functionality and improved user experience.
We invite you to visit our website and community and we look forward to hearing from you again.
Best Regards,

Yeah, I get it (search this forum for some of the phrases). There's no particular rush on this, the firmware will remain available for a very long time. Many people who got this email can't run 4.2.x firmware in their NAS, but per your previous post that's not your issue.
If you downloaded the zip file from the link, then you need to unzip before you can install it. You'll find a RAIDiator-x86-4.2.28 file inside (with no file extension) and the release notes.
Then you'd log into frontview on the NAS, select system->update. Then click on the "local" tab, and click on "choose file". Browse to RAIDiator-x86-4.2.28, and select it. Click in "upload and verify image"....
Is this what you did? Or did you do something else?

Okay, this seemed to work. I must have missed a step the first time that I tried. Thank you.
