VERY slow transfer from NV+ to Ultra 4
Afternoon lads, I've trawled through the forums and gone slightly blind looking for solutions to this, so please forgive me if I've managed to miss the simple and obvious solution :) I am trying...

I'd suggest you go back to basics, doing a series of tests so you can narrow down the cause of the issue - your initial performance numbers do NOT seem appropriate and you should try to ensure that is first resolved before moving on
First, I'd strongly recommend you work with OSX on your MacBook for the time being - who knows what issues there may be with Ubuntu and network drivers on a MacBook
Second, test performance over a direct connection between your macbook and each of your 2 NAS to establish a baseline - your NAS to NAS speed is unlikely to be faster than the slowest speed you see via a direct connection.
Third introduce your router and again test performance between Mac and each NAS to see if there is any substantial degradation. Ideally you should see the same level of performance as when you implement a direct connect.
Once you are happy that you have everything setup and performing as it should in the standard config, then retry NAS to NAS communication and finally return to linux on your macbook and compare to your OSX based results.
