I have been experiencing this same problem: good speed on wired connections with Vista but almost unusable on wireless connections with Vista.
I have now changed the MTU on my ReadyNAS NV+ to 1492. This has the following result: Wireless access is now fine but wired access speed is halved. A 138MB file took 6sec to transfer at MTU 1500 and 12sec at MTU 1492.
My feeling is that this is a compromise rather than a solution but at least I can now access files on the NAS with my wireless laptop.
Would wired speed be improved if I were to change the MTU on my wired workstation to 1492 to match the NAS?
