I have now changed the MTU on my ReadyNAS NV+ to 1492. This has the following result: Wireless access is now fine but wired access speed is halved. A 138MB file took 6sec to transfer at MTU 1500 and 12sec at MTU 1492.
My feeling is that this is a compromise rather than a solution but at least I can now access files on the NAS with my wireless laptop.
Would wired speed be improved if I were to change the MTU on my wired workstation to 1492 to match the NAS?
In my testing my readynas Duo only gets full performance when mtu is set at 1500, changing it to something else decreseas performance, and I can't test jumboframes either (switch not compatible).
I'm pretty sure this is a Readynas issue, other NAS from different brands perform 100% on xp and vista wired or wireless! Hope they find a solution soon.
