Volume not recognized

Shutdown my RN212 to upgrade my HDD to SSD. Pulled the drives and put them back in. Now neither will recognize as a valid volume. Nothing changed. The system wants to reformat the drives and start fresh.... These have EVERYTHING on them 6+ years of data.

Can you explain more precisely what you did?  More details on all the steps would be very helpful (particularly exactly what you pulled and reinserted in order and whether the NAS was powered up or not when you executed those steps).

FWIW, if the SSDs are the same size (or larger) than the HDDs, then the normal process would be to hot-swap the HDDs (NAS running) one at a time (waiting for resync to complete before hot-swapping the second drive).  If the SSDs are smaller, then the normal process would be to back up the data, power down, remove both HDDs, power up the NAS with the 2 SSDs, set up the NAS from scratch, and restore the files from backup.

Hopefully we can get the data back.

But it is important to understand that RAID is not enough to keep data safe.  You really do need independent backups to do that.

Ok, but we still need more details on exactly what you did do ( and whether the NAS was powered up or not).
