WOL is just a special packet. The router could 'support' it if NTGR added it to the router GUI to be able to wake machines.
Looks like one of those add-ons could be installed, then from your TV via XBMC you can wake the NAS without having to go push the button. So half way. Now the other half to shut it down. For now, you could set the Power Timer on the NAS, then test WOL.
