    Personally I use WDC Reds (the Seagate equivalent is their IronWolf line).  The "Pro" versions of both are enterprise class, and are also worth a look.

     

    In general, I don't recommend desktop class drives.  NAS-purposed or Enterprise class are better choices (and NAS-purposed are similar in price to desktop). It's best to avoid SMR ("Archival") drives and Seagate DMs - particularly the ST3000DM001.
