What is 'Frontview'
I see Frontview mentioned all over this forum but don't know what it is. I have only NETGEAR Raidar and ReadyNas Dashboard. Is this the same thing?

- Hey there,
I'm new here too but to answer your question this forum's description reads:
"Please post questions or problems regarding the built-in backup manager in FrontView here"
As there is indeed a "built-in" backup manager in the "dashboard", I'm assuming this actually is the Frontview everyone is talking about. And that the Dashboard refers only to the home page of Frontview.
Though I do understand your confusion. It would help if it said "Frontview" in the header rather than just "Netgear REadyNAS".
It feels a little too much like this product is not really catering for those of us who aren't particularly LINUX savy as certainly my own experience so far has not been a smooth one. - Dashboard is the name of UI in the new ARM devices.
Frontview is the name of the UI on on the Sparc and x86 devices.
UI = Management Panel/Control Panel/Admin Control Centre/etc. - Thanks for clearing that up. As a new onlooker here, it is difficult to get a grasp of what information is relavant to the product we have purchased.
- Saying that, how come there isn't a dedicated "DASHBOARD" forum for Backup queries?

That I don't know. The ARM devices are relatively new still, so I assume that may come in to it. Dashboard only currently applies to ARM devices,
Keep asking the question, as I know a few of the "techs" on here have been given units to play with, fault find, and build software for. So maybe there is something out there, or in the pipeline, and due to be released at some point.
Try searching these forums for mention of your device and the problems you're having. You might also want to look at the DBotts, Spardy, WhoCares? and mdgm blogs if there are reachable. They quite often post snippets of stuff on there.- thanks mate :)
- NottubAspirantThanks for this, at least I am not missing anything (I hope).
Cheers
