What is the difference between home folders and home?
Hello-
When I go to the web interface and choose shares, there a file tree appears with Data at the top. One of the choices under that is Home Folders. (Pic 1 )
I can change the settings on these folders, such as allowing snapshot access. When I access settings, i see folders for all users. (Pic 2 )

When I browse the Home Folder, its name in the folder tree changes to just home. The contents of Home is different from the contents of Home Folders. Just "Home" is missing hte new users. (Pic 3)

As you can see in the difference between Pic2 and Pic 3, many users do NOT have a folder under Home. Could some please explain what is going on with this?
I appreciate any guidance.
Thanks, Bill

The home folder for each user is created when the user connects to the NAS for instance using Windows Explorer) using those credentials.
Did the missing users ever do that?

I realize the issue here is htat I have been making a mistake in permissions.
Users have been accessing the Documents folder as a Guest. They have not had to sign in. When I removed Guest access and more fienly tuned the access permissions, then users had to sign in with their passwords... and then Home Folders were created.
Thank you for responding to my issue.
