What's the simplest way to copy files to USB drive

If you use Explorer or something over the network to copy, it would not be efficient (NAS -> PC -> NAS).

I have installed third party file manager Xplorer aka Ajaxplorer http://readynas.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=48&t=30795&start=0#p169617 and it shows default files, but I cannot see c drive with shares, nor usb drives.
Should I try some other, simpler file manager?
I really don't need all the fancy stuff it has. Just ability to pick files and folders from different shares and copy them to usb drive (and vice versa), avoiding network.
