If your system is working well, I think you should leave it as it is.

Since you already have OS 6 installed, you won't be able to use the add-on that's linked to the post. You'll need the manual procedure that's described there (using ssh).

It might be wise to wait for mdgm-ntgr to confirm that the manual procedure is the same for the ultra 6 (though I believe it is).

According to Intel at Intel-Atom-Processor-D510-1M-Cache-1_66-GHz, the D510 does not have VT-x capability.

I missed that aspect. There is a newer bios than 06/10/2010 FLAME6-2 V1.1, but it won't add VT-x.

Thank you for this info. Then I guess I can drop this.

Unless a new bios version is worth appling anyway.

  Actually that's the latest BIOS for the Ultra 6 (not plus). You've already got the latest BIOS for your system installed.
  
  The old BIOS for the Ultra 6 on some early produced systems was dated 05/26/2010, I believe.
  
  The latest BIOS for the Pro BE/Pro Pioneer/Ultra 6 Plus/Pro 6 is dated 07/26/2010 but that BIOS is incompatible with all other ReadyNAS models. It uses a very different CPU to the Atom CPU in your NAS and has a very different motherboard.
  
  Flashing the wrong BIOS for your system would brick it. Also if something goes wrong (e.g. power is lost, problem writing to BIOS chip etc.) during a BIOS update then the system can be bricked.
