Will ReadyNAS DUO fan speed quiet down after firmware update
I just factory reset my RNDuo v1 and updated the firmware RAIDiator 4.1.4 but the fan is still walloping at 5400 RPM. I could have sworn after the update there was a radio button or simialr switch in...

You could try the Enable Fan Min RPM add-on, as some have found that it also seems to solve the high-speed problem. No idea why that would work, but it is easy to try. Just make sure you don't set the min fan speed too low.

I don't know what you read, but any fix in 4.1.4 would have been carried forward to 4.1.16.
I suggest reverting back to current firmware.
Was the fan running continuously at 5400 rpm? Was the NAS still syncing?
ever since the Factory reset, yes. but it's goes quiet, then back up, kinda of randomly. Maybe it's still syncing (although have yet to put any data on it). I can wait.

Attached are the latest logs. I just thought back when I had this as a new NAS, there was an update that gave us control over the fan straight in the GUI. Maybe I'm mistaken. It's good now.
