Win 11 file access on ReadyNAS Pro V4.2.31

Initially I had problems accessing the NAS web interface from Edge, with it reporting

ERR_SSL_VERSION_OR_CIPHER_MISMATCH.

But i was guided to download an older version of Firefox to solve that issue.

Now, I still can't access the files on the shares with Windows 11 file manager.

Is there a file management I can use utility that still speaks old protocols ?

Model: ReadyNAS Pro Pioneer Edition [X-RAID2]
Firmware: RAIDiator 4.2.31
Volume C: Online, X-RAID2, 6 disks, 93% of 9250 GB used

Help / pointers much appreciated.....

You have to go into the Windows Control Panel / Programs and Features and turn on SMB1.

But you may also want to consider updating to OS6, which uses more current security protocols. It's still based on an outdated version of Linux, but not as outdated as the one in 4.2.x.

Instructions for doing so are here in the forum -- several places, in fact.  Don't rely on the built-in search engine of the forum software, it's abominable; use Google.  Also, be sure you first back up your VPD file as outlined here: Backup-and-restore-of-VPD-file-for-legacy-ReadyNAS-running-OS .  For OS6,10.x, it is also recommended you have at least 2GB of RAM installed.

Thank you. That was the most accurate, concise and helpful message I have ever received.
