Thanks for your reply.
The reason for replicating the Windows users names on the NAS is that I'm unable to connect to a NAS share at all with a different user\pw login to the current windows users. The pop up suggests that using more than one name are not allowed. I've just checked again with a couple of machines and it's still the case.
To expand on the he problem, if user A creates a File or Folder, user B and user C are unable to edit it (or sometimes access if a folder). The same applies to files created by the other users. Only the user who created the file can access it. All users have the same read\write premisions set on the NAS and are members of the same NAS group, also with read\write. If user A logs in to a different PC, the file still opens.
If I hit 'reset permissions' in the 'Files and Folders' section access is enabled for all users to all files.
I wondered of the settings in "Files and Folders" need an amend ? Would a screen shot help ?
Basically what I'm trying to achieve is to be able to manage access to different shares for different windows users. How's this usually done ?
