Win Users file access \ mod issue #25383389
Hi,
I'm trying to implement some user \ group management on my NAS Duo v2. firmware 5.3.11
The issue I'm seeing is that a user can create a folder and save files but a different user is then being denied access. If I hit 'reset permissions' at the bottom all becomes OK until the next restart.
Each windows users is set up as a user on the NAS with matching pw. I've assigned them to a group called 'office' and set the permissions for the volume concerned to:
SMB
Read Write access ticked for each of the users plus the group 'office'.
Automatic permissions is ticked
File creation button options in the protocol specific options are set to disabled.
Folder Owner: nobody
Folder Group: nogroup
Folder Owner\Group\Everyone all Read\Write.
Fingers crossed I'm missing something simple, but it's new ground to me.
Any help or suggestions appreciated :)
Thanks
David

- david000AspirantWell, after trying unsuccessfully to get some help from the official Netgear support who refused as the product is out of warranty, I purchased a NAS from a different manufacture. Guess what, it works as advertised.
No more Netgear for my business.
