Windows Users cannot access folders created by Mac Users
Hi all,
we use a ReadyNAS NV+ and some of the clients use Macintosh OSX computers. Once they create a folder, other users using Windows machines are not permitted to work within these folders. They are write protected and have no access rights set.
Even as an administrator, I am not able to set these permissions.
- How can I set permissions for the affected folders?
- How can I ensure, that in the future these folders created by Mac users are accessible for Win users?
Thanks for any advice!
Best,
Bernd

First in a mixed environment of mac and PC you should not be using AFP just SMB/CIFS. To set the permissions to not have issues you need to set on each share the Automatic Permissions and Restrict ACL changes check boxes to checked and have Folder/Folder Creation Group/Everyone Rights to be Read/Write and this will lock the permissions to read/write for everyone.
