FWIW xbmc is now called kodi.

Although the RN516 has an HDMI port, it is still designated as "for future use". I don't think anyone has successfully used it for rendering media. So if that is your goal, I think it will be difficult to get there.

yes i do, and i am a member and i have been using it for for 2 years.
without getting off topic and asking why do you want to use xbmc etc.. etc..

i am trying to learn so if you can tell me, can i install Xbmc on readynas 516 i would appreciate it.. if yes please let me know why..

Have you considered using the Plex Media Server app?
