NETGEAR is aware of a growing number of phone and online scams. To learn how to stay safe click here.
Was trying to change my one month old C6900 into an access point (AP) after switching over to Metronet, only to find out it does not have that setting. My initial thought was, are you freaking kidding me? Why oh why would they not build all current models with this ability? I am shaking my head at you Netgear.
Please have all of your products include this ability. It will keep your products in service longer and keep your equipment out of the landfill.
If anyone knows of a work around that will help me solve this, please let me know.

its because its not just a router. Its a modem/router combo device so it doesn't have a wan port.
there has been work arounds found. See this post for instance.
And the straight router products, do have access point mode. But again, the C6900 is a combo device already.

Now you know why experienced users buy, and recommend, separate modems and routers. This is especially true of cable modem/routers, where the firmware is beyond your, and Netgear's, control.
You bought something for one purpose and now want to use it for something completely different. Netgear cannot anticipate that sort of mistake.
