Allow Orbi Voice to be included in Alexa Multi-Room Speaker Group
Bringing this over from the Orbi Voice boards. This seems like a no-brainer. Currently, Orbi Voice does not show up as available for grouping in the Alexa app.

Has this been addressed yet? When I attempt to add my Orbi Voice to my Multi-room group via the Alexa app it states, "Firmware update required". The only reason I bought the Orbi Voice was to add to my multi-room group. I already had an Echo dot in that room that could complete the "Alexa" tasks. The voice is a good speaker, but without multi-room alexa access it's rather useless. If this is not achievable I would have been better off with a standard satellite and my original echo dot.

Hello Orbi Community,
Netgear, if you are monitoring this forum and listening to your customers, could you please post an update on whether this has been addressed yet. If so, please post a link to the solution or an update on what the current status is?

I'm also hoping for a response from Netgear here - at least a timeline. If the Orbi Voice can't be added to a multi-room setup, then it'll unfortunately have to go back to the store.

It took me about a month of emails to finally get a response from Netgear support about the Orbi Voice joining an Alexa group, so I wanted to share this with others looking for the same information. Finally received this answer:
"Upon checking here, the RBS40V cannot connect to your Alexa group because it's firmware does not support it. However, we already raised your concern to the appropriate team but we don't have an estimated date when will be the firmware will available"
It's unfortunate how terrible Netgear support is with help and information and even more unfortunate they would bring a nice product like this to market without what I believe is a major required functionality for an Alexa sound device. Hopefully this will be fixed soon in a firmware update but, as the response indicated, they have no estimated date for fixing a core functionality issue with their device.

How do we get more upvotes on this and/or how can we also email support so it gets on their roadmap?

Just bought the Orbi Voice to add to my Alexa speaker group. Big NETGEAR fan. Have Nighthawk modem, Orbi Router plus satellites. Please update firmware

Same here. Orbi set up was great but the satellite doesn’t show in Alexa as a speaker and therefore cannot be added. Seems like that would be a quick and easy fix as all other speaker settings seem to be there.

Seriously. How hard is this?

I also have 2 orbi voice and it is rediculous that Netgear can't or won't come up with firmware to fix this issue. As an earlier contributor mentioned, this is a basic function of an Amazon speaker.
