Feature Request: Block or allow individual devices based on time schedule
I have an R7500 Nighthawk router that works beautifully. But one feature I miss is the ability to block individual devices based on a time schedule. There is a feature to block ALL devices on a time schedule, but not individual devices. Please consider adding that feature.
For example, I want to block my 2 kids Ipods between 9pm and 7am on school nights, and 10pm and 7am on weekends, and allow all other devices. Unless I'm missing something, this is not currently possible

I gave the D7000 and need to block the Mac on sons Xbox. Please add this feature
- JamesKyneNoviceI completely agree with you and definitely it's a needed feature to bring more easy processing through the acts. Getting the feature option to block all devices is a effective one, no doubt about that but without a single device blocking the entire use becomes less valuable. I do work for a professional resume writing service (website) and I have to use some kind of tools during various work processes. Hope this feature will be enables sooner rather than later. Eagerly waiting for the chance to make use of that advanced single device blocking option.

Please make this a part of your next firmware update. My kids are streaming me into the poor house!

I completely agree. This is a feature that is found on every other vendor's product (Linksys, D-Link, Asus, etc.). I really hope NetGear can add this very important feature for every family that has children. The Parental feature no only doesn't block per device but the porn filter (through OpenDNS) is not very good. It allows way too much to pass through, even after setting the filter level to the highest setting.

Netgear Product Management: please take a look at this community Neatgear forum topic, it has been viewed 22000 times. Some customers there have really strong feelings. You will understand that this feature is sorely missed.

It really needs to be able to set multiple schedules and then add multiple computers by IP/MAC to that schedule.
Suggestion:
1. In Schedule: Allow us to save schedules, so we can have multiple schedules to choose from.
2. In Places that use schedules(like for instance Block services): Allow us to use specific schedules in each row in the service table.

I had a DLink wireless AC1900 router DIR 880L and it was ok but had so many glitches and problems I just replaced it with a Nighthawk AC1900 Smart WiFi Router Model R6900. The one thing I liked on the DLink was you could schedule individual devices for WiFi service. Meaning I have three teenagers and two younger kids. If I wanted to let the teenagers have access to the WiFi until 11pm and the two younger kids until 9pm I could set each device (iPod, iPad, iPhone etc.) With the Nighthawk I can only do all or nothing using a not so specific block scheduler. I see there is some software / services out there like Web Curfew that might help. Any other suggestions?

- ShockedNoviceIt's truly amazing that netgear has not addressed this issue. It was brought up in September 2014. All the responses indicating "work arounds" are inadequate. Please add this feature.

I am a computer Engineer of 20+ years and a Solutions Engineer for a large hosting company, I find it apalling that this simple feature that has existed on ALL OF THE LINKSYS devices in the last several years is not available on this $200.00+ router!?!?!?
I am actually considering ditching this product based on the fact that it doesn't have this feature. I am not sure why I paid so much for this item, without first confirming that this feature existed. This really needs to be inplemented ASAP. Anyone with children can completely agree and understand that filtering is NOT ENOUGH. I need to be able to set device schedules so that I can control what and when my children are accessing the internet on specific devices. integration with OpenDNS is NICE and I like that I can set custom filters (PER DEVICE), but It's far easier to turn OFF internet for specific MAC addresses on a network than to try and implement filters.
If you log into a current linksys device you can drag and highlight a calendar of days and hours to set this up (pretty nifty...)

Thank you DreadMoon I am with you 100%! May I ask why you went away from the Linksys?
In addition to ahving OpenDNS set up I have a Disney Circle device which you can schedule devices but not in the detailed way my Dlink could. Meaning I can only do it all or nothing i.e. turn off at 11pm on at 7am but not on certain days plus it currently only does one device at a time so if your teenager has an iPhone and iPad you have to choose between the two for tracking etc. It is very clear that Netgear does not read these posts or care.
