Going back to your case, if you want to scheduled Internet access to each devices, I would suggest that you configure the Parental Control feature of the router.
To configure the Parental Controls using the NETGEAR genie app:
1. Use a computer that is connected to your NETGEAR router. 2. Open the NETGEAR genie app. Note: In the following example, the NETGEAR genie app for Windows PC will be used. 3. Click Parental Controls. 4. If you are not logged into the router, NETGEAR genie will ask for the username and password. Type the default username which is admin and the default password which is password (unless you have previously changed the password). 5. The Parental Controls window will appear. Click Next to proceed with the setup. 6. The Setting up Live Parental Controls screen displays. Select Yes if you have an OpenDNS account. If you do not have one, click No, I need to create a free OpenDNS account. 7. Click Next. In this scenario, we are going to create a new OpenDNS account. 8. Complete the OpenDNS information for your account and click Next. 9. Select the filtering level and click Next. In this scenario, we are going to select High to block access to adult-related sites, video sharing, social networking sites, and phishing attacks. The filtering level is now properly set. The next step is to create a bypass account so some computers/devices will still be able to access the internet without any restriction. 10. On the NETGEAR genie Status window, click Change Custom Settings. 11. You will be redirected to https://netgear.opendns.com. Click Add a bypass account. Note: You need to install the NETGEAR genie on each computer, iPhone, iPad, or Android device that you want to use the Bypass account. 12. Create the username and password for your bypass account, then click Add account. 13. Next is to edit the filtering level of your bypass account. In this scenario, we are going to set it to None. Click on Save Filtering Level afterwards. Note: You can also set a schedule on when the parental controls should filter the content and filtering level. 14. Click Add a time block. Select the time and type of filtering level. Then click Add Time Block. Now that we have successfully created a bypass account, we are now going to use it to bypass the parental control filtering. 15. Go back to your NETGEAR genie Status window and click on Bypass Login. 16. Double-click the bypass account. 17. Enter the password. Click Login. 18. Once successfully logged in, you can now access the internet without any restriction. If you try to access blocked content on a computer with active parental control filtering, you will get a similar page below. It means the Live Parental Control is working perfectly.
For more information on how to setup the Parental Control feature, you may refer to this link: http://kb.netgear.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/25687
After creating a bypass account for your device, please create another bypass account for each device. After you create the bypass account for each device, enable it on the Genie app of the specific device you want to limit the access then configure the Time block. Please make sure that you change the admin password of the Genie app so that they will not be able to change any settings.
If the information provided did not help in resolving your issues, please reply to this email so that we can further isolate your case and find the best solution.
Thank you for choosing NETGEAR.
