MK62 — Nighthawk is in need of a way to seperate 2.4 Ghz/5.0 Ghz. So many devices in my house only take 2.4Ghz and are being used without the internet currently. For a router/mesh system which costs ...
This is widely discussed elsewhere and stems from a basic misunderstanding of how IoT stuff works. If it can't connect to 5 GHz, it won't see 5 GHz.
It isn't even a new idea:

The problem comes when someone tries to set up a 2.4 GHz device with a poorly written setup app that can't handle a 5 GHz connection.
It isn't that the Orbi needs separate SSIDs but that the IoT app needs go be written by people who know what they are doing and how customers work.
For some devices, it is simply a case of disabling the SSID broadcast for the 5 GHz wifi.
