Need an option to Disable WPS for Bed & Breakfast & Caregiving In Private Home

My previous Netgear Router had a way to disable WPS.  The one I just purchased doesn't have that option.  From what I hear, this feature has been removed from all newer Netgear routers.  I do caregiving & sometimes take in people with disabilities whose families or live-in caregivers need a break.  And sometimes I take in teens/young adults who just aged out of the foster care system & need a transition before they're fully on their own. I set up a guest network for them, but don't like the idea they can get into the main network with the WPS. I was also thinking of doing a bed & breakfast. I don't like this feature being there for that either. I thought of enabling access control to prevent more devices from being added, but I read there is no way to enable it for only the main network & not the guest network. So other than finding a way to lock up the router, there doesn't seem to be a way to keep my computer & information safe from basically unknown guest & still allow them to have internet. The WPS button being accessible seems a security vulnerability for my situation.  I'm sure there are other caregivers & bed breakfast owners in this situation as well.  I'd really like to see the option of disabling the WPS.

Did you look at the range of business wifi extenders?

The circumstances you describe would suggest this as the best option.

    Here is just one possibility:

    AX1800 WiFi 6 Access Point (WAX210)

    Inexpensive and no WPS.

  • Unless, I'm missing something the range of business wifi extenders won't solve the issue.  From what I understand, a router is still a necessity with these & the extender just extends the signal.  Is this correct?  If so, this won't solve the issue of the wps being accessible on the router without finding a way to lock it up.  And the range is very good, so need to extend it.
