I just bought a new Nighthawk AC2300 (R7000P) and am extremely disappointed and angry that this brand new, high-priced router, does not separate the options to let Guests see each other, and to let Guests see my Main network. For 5 years I've happily used a Netgear WNDR3700 which had separate options to enable Wireless Isolation (guests can/can't see either other) and Access My Local Network (guests can/can't see Main devices). I used the Guest network for my kids and their friends--I trust them enough to use wifi and see each other (many multiplayer games require it), but I do not trust them (or their virus-prone devices) enough to see my work and home computers and shared folders. After 5 years I expected new and improved features, but Netgear has taken a step backward.
I am considering returning my new router to the store and buying a different (better) brand.
Needless to say, I will no longer be recommending Netgear to friends, and I'll have to explain why.
