This would definitely be a useful feature
Auto-reply for incoming SMS on devices like the Nighthawk M1 could help in scenarios like unattended setups, alerts, or basic automation use cases. Right now, most routers with SIM support only handle SMS in a very basic way (read/send manually), without automation or rule-based responses.
For bulk SMS or auto-replies, it usually requires either:
- Firmware-level support (from Netgear side)
- Or integration with an external SMS gateway/API
In many setups, people connect such devices to backend systems or APIs to handle logic like auto-replies, OTP responses, or notifications instead of relying on the router itself.
It would be great if Netgear adds this natively, but until then, external integration is probably the only practical approach.
