Dear Netgear Dev Team, I hope you’re doing well! I’m writing to share some feedback and request a feature enhancement for the Nighthawk M6 Pro mobile router (on the latest firmware as of now - NTGX65_12.01.54.00). First of all, I want to express how pleased I am with the device — it’s very well-built, reliable, and offers excellent connectivity options for staying online while traveling. It’s clear that a lot of care has gone into its design and functionalit That being said, I’ve noticed that the device currently lacks one key feature that is essential for my needs: the ability to send SMS messages. Allow me to explain why this feature is important to me. My mobile operator provides high-speed internet up to a daily limit of 10 GB. After reaching this limit, the connection speed drops dramatically to 64 Kbps, which effectively renders internet access unusable on modern devices. To continue enjoying high-speed access, I must send an SMS to a short service number provided by my operator, which then grants me an additional 10 GB. Without the ability to send SMS from the router, I’m unable to extend my high-speed access easily and have to switch SIM cards between devices or find other inconvenient workarounds. I completely understand that integrating new features into the user interface can take time. As an experienced user, I would even be perfectly satisfied if this functionality were initially made available through an API or command-line access — any way to programmatically send SMS messages from the device would be immensely helpful. Thank you very much for considering my request! I believe that adding this feature would significantly enhance the user experience for people like me who rely on mobile data extensively. I’m happy to provide any additional information or feedback if needed. Wishing you continued success with this great product! Hi all, i want to request 2 features which I'm missing on the LM1200, LTE 4g modem I think both features would make this device better and more complete than it currently is. 1) Ability to setup a VLAN configuration on the WAN port, this is a very common setup within the Netherlands. Fiber optic suppliers require this in order to let it work. E.g. My provider Odido requires an setup of VLAN 300 on the WAN port. Missing this feature requires me to add a extra switch with VLAN support between my FTU and the LM1200. Without it, i cannot use the LM1200 as an backup connection. 2) Ability to send sms messages with own specified text to an number. We only use the LM1200 as a backup solution if the fiber optics fails. We need to send an SMS towards the mobile provider in order to activate data bundels. By not having this feature, we must insert the SIM card into a mobile phone, send the sms, put the card back into the LM1200 and continue. Thanks!258Views0likes0CommentsBluetooth Tethering
Hi Netgear Team, I would highly recommend creating a Bluetooth tethering connection for WiFi hotspots. Some brand models enable this feature like Wimax 2+, and I hope the upcoming models will too. Wondering If Netgear will ever provide a update or piece of hardware that plugs into the usb ports for 4G/5G dongles to work as a back up internet solution for when a main provider goes down. A lot of isp's in the UK are offering this at the minute and there routers are nowhere near the cost or specs of a Netgear router surely this would be great bonus and pull people away from isp routers170Views0likes0CommentsEasy and better way to use mobile internet as home network
hi guys, ive looked for this a lot, and i found a lot of people with the same problem: Since mobile internet is getting really fast and very cheap, we need a simple way to connect your phone's data plan to your home network. Example: I live in a villa on an island in Greece, and my unlimited 4G plan is MUCH faster then my cable connection. Im talking 80mbps vs 20mbps (real speeds, not as advertised). 5G is coming, so the difference will be even more. Because of the geological difficulties of Greece (lots of islands) and whatever other reasons, viber will never be an option. So its mobile data that is the future. This was also predicted many years ago by analists, so its not that this is a big surprise :) What we need: A very, very simple sollution where you can connect your mobile phone to your home network. Im talking about clicking your phone in a dock, maybe installing an app, and it just works. All while still using your phone the usual way (so i can still use Whatsapp, GSM calling, SMS etc...) There are modems and routers with Sim slots, but then you cant use your phone for communication. You can tether your mobile phone with a router, but its pretty complicated for newbees. You can make a hotspot, but its not really fast and no way to cover the whole house for my family (inc 4K TVs) Another solution would be a mobile phone with network and external antennas, but that is getting a bit wierd. Almost like building an android phone into a router/modem. Sort of 'the-new-old-phone-from-yesteryear'. if anybody has a sollution for me, please let me know!150Views0likes0CommentsIP Passthrough mode option in router display
Please add an option to toggle IP Passthrough right on the built in router menu. This would be extremely convenient if you want to quickly unplug the Hotspot from the home router to use it on the go. (for example if you use it for fallback at home)159Views0likes0Comments
