I would like a feature addedd to allow sending Orbi logs to a syslog server on the private network. My NAS already has syslog server capability, and I would like the Orbi to send it's logs to it.

- awesome_bobNovicePLEASE. You already have everything you need in the firmware. Just add a bit for sending to a remote server:port. This is the one thing that keeps me from being completely satisfied with the Orbi as my edge router.
- sprtxgyAspirantyes I would like Syslog capability for Orbi as well

Please add this capability. Starting to push other products over Orbi because all my small business customers are needing to comply with security requirements and monitoring traffic is the first thing.

Please add this capability. Especially useful if trying to troubleshoot device problems.

Since first posting 6 years ago, NG probably not going to add it if isn't available by now. Also SysServer I believe is a security risk.

Why would it be a security risk? Logs get sent outbound from each device.

Exactly, outbound to where?
Been many nefarious sysserver apps out there that seem to collect more than what is intended.
NG has been clamping down on what debugging tools are in the FW. They stopped supporting Telnet and they consider that a security risk as well. All SSH now and NG only has those keys.

Great question!
I have a syslog server on my home network. Definitely not sending logs to the internet.
The intention is to send all logs to it, so I can review issues retroactively rather having to sit around and wait for a random issue to occur.

Won't see this on Orbi systems. Only output for debugging is debug logs.

And the debug logs can’t have a feature to send it to a syslog server? It might help reduce the resource requirements to host all debug output on the router itself.
