It would be great if you could see realtime bandwidth per device for the netgear r7000, similar to Google Wifi and Eero. It would be a really useful info and diagnostic tool to see what devices are currently taking up bandwidth. It would be great if this was added to the router web administration page as well theNetgear Genie and/or Netgear Up apps.
I've attached a screenshot of how this feature looks on Google Wifi.

Several years later & this is still desperately needed. I paid a lot for the Orbi RBR860 + satellites, & expected this feature would be available from a reputable brand.
Totally agree, real-time, per-device bandwidth tracking would be a game-changer for the R7000. It’s frustrating not knowing which device is hogging the connection until everything slows to a crawl. Having that data right in the web admin and Genie/Up apps would make troubleshooting and bandwidth management so much easier, especially for households with multiple devices.
Netgear, I've decided, after being loyal for almost a decade, is garbage, particularly due to their cruddy firmwares and softwares. The actual hardware might be decent, but since most won't allow you to flash a functional, useful firmware onto them, they are garbage by association. Shopping for something non-Netgear as we speak, then See Ya!
This is still needed. I have no idea which device is using up all of my data cap, every user in my house says "not me!" If I enable Dynamic QoS, I can then get a picture of who's using the bandwidth right now, but QoS slows down all my traffic and causes interruptions for some devices (e.g. my Nintendo Switch) when playing online games (e.g. Warframe), even when set to the highest priority (I've also tried leaving it on "Normal" priority). I still can't see who's using up my bandwidth when I'm not watching...
I am surprised there has been no Netgear response in three years.
- The hard part about this discussion is that not only can't we use a NetGear based add-on or have it be part of the router itself, we can't even enable port monitoring so we can use a Raspberry Pi device with monitoring software on it to do it ourselves cost effectively. I know it's only been a month, but has anyone come up with a solution yet without breaking the bank or buying all new hardware. I'm not just interested in the device, but being able to see the device, the services and the bandwidth per service. (much like the tools we have in the corporate world.) e.g. YouTube Device 1 : 500 MB Device 2 : 750MB Device 3 : 190 MB Facebook Device 1 : 50MB Device 2 : 20MB etc... etc...
How is this not a feature yet? I'm about to sell this Orbi crap for Google WiFi
someone mentioned that this request was a duplicate of another more popular one, but this one is actually older! This has been ignored for 2 years?!
I was looking at the Orbi as my next router, as my current one is long in the tooth, and having a mesh would help with some of my coverage issues, but I can't imagine going without this feature and will probably buy something else. I've only had my current router for 5 or 6 years, but gargoyle (which it runs) has had it for over 10 years. There's a big difference between an "idiot light" on a dashboard saying "there's a problem with your bandwidth being chewed up" and being able to target where it is coming from, and go on to deal with it. (HEY KID#3! stop youtubing in 4k! your screen can't even display that!)
I have never in my life thought it would be this difficult to find a user friendly program that shows devices and their data usage amount. How hard can that be or am I missing something?
