AC1600 D6300 Modem Router
I bought this router/mdem-AC1600-for my small house. It's supposed to run up to 680Mbps but I know it's not running that. I am not technically savvy, so all the firmware talk and software, etc is over my head. I just want the thing to work and it's not. I can't step outside at all without losing all the signal. My old router had no issue with sitting on the porch and working I figure I am supposed to do something to enhance its performance but I am clueless. Help? And In Really dumbed down laments terms?

Hello Karhae
In the wireless settings of the modem there is a setting wireless channel you may want to change this channel until you find one that gives better signal. If you have a android phone Netgear has a app called Netgear wifi analytics that can tell you the best channel to use.
