C7000 Blinking Downstream? Choppy Internet
Hoping someone can help? My c7000 has a constant blinking green downstream light? At times both the upstream and downstream are a solid amber (not often). I've rebooted it numerous times both by pulling the power cord and also thru spectrum's website to reset. I did some googling as I'm illiterate when it comes to modem stuff and found that it could possibly be a loose connection so checked all that out and everything looks good. I have two modems (one for our home phone, a ubee thru spectrum) and this nighthawk. The ubee is performing perfectly.
I contacted spectrum a little while ago and they did some stuff from their end and said they signal looks great and didn't see any problem on their end. They said they saw some crazy signal spikes on the modem and suggested it's on it's way out. It's only 18 months old and I paid over 150 bucks for it. Kicking myself now. I researched a ton when I bought it as I had another netgear but wanted something that allowed a more extended range which this has done.
Is there anything I can do before I smash it against a wall? Or can someone suggest a good modem with a nice extended range that isn't so expensive? I think I'm going to be done with netgear if this truly is on it's way out. I expect a product to last far longer than this.
Thanks for any help you can offer.

Anyone? Was hoping for some guidance, seems 18 months would be WAY too quick for a router to die? I can provide any info needed, just let me know. Thanks.

Just a little more information in hopes it will help with a reply. I have a netgear c3700 that the c7000 replaced. I just hooked that one up and disconnected the c7000. The c3700 had both upstream and downstream lights blinking green and my desktop would connect with it but it said "no internet". When I plugged the c7000 in it went right back to the blinking upstream but I do have internet.
I have checked all connections and can't find anything, spectrum says nothing on their end. I'm at a loss, can anyone please give me a hand? THANKS!

And yet another update - I went to the splitter and disconnected it, hooked up the c3700 to the direct line and it was fine, no blinking lights. I then hooked up with c7000 and still have the blinking downstream. Is that a router issue?
