C7000v2 interconnectivity issues between 2.4ghz and 5ghz wifi
netgear c7000v2 with Firmware V1.02.14
though I have read this thread:
I believe the issue is not resolved. On a Mac powerbook 13" retina, I am connected to the 5ghz wifi. My roku ultra and my samsung wifi printer (brand new) only see the 2.4ghz network. So I join them.
Then my mac, while able to PING them, can not connect. I can not do any of the applications that require a network discovery until I join my mac to the 2.4ghz network. (ie anything with broadcasting or bonjour won't work, I'm not sure what protocol the roku uses).
In trying to troubleshoot this, I found also, oddly enough, that while my oneplus 5t was joined to the 5ghz wifi, in the netgear web page, ACCESS CONTROL ->connected devices, it doesn't show my phone as connected, though I can ping it.
It's all very odd, almost as if there is an active udp firewall going on between the two wifi's.
Any help is appreciated

Disable any access controls.
When both are connected on the same freqquency, will they connect then?

which access controls? on the modem? I only have the default rules there. Did you mean other access controls?

Yes if you enabled any access controls on the modem.
Might try a factory reset on the modem and setup from scratch.
Test to see if both devices connected to 2.4Ghz can connect to each other first.
