CAX80 set up
I have just purchased the Nighthawk AX8 AX6000 WiFi Cable Modem Router, model CAX80 with the intention of replacing a separate cable modem and separate router (not combined into one unit). About half the devices in my home are through an Ethernet connection and the rest are wireless. My question is how is the Ethernet connection made to the Cable Modem Router? There is one connection coming off the hub that was connected to the old router, but on the CAX80, is this being connected to the “LAN” connection on the back or to one of the aggregate connections or one of the others connections ( 3 or 4)? I realize this is probably a basic question but I’m struggling to make this work.

Services come thru the CAX 80 on the RG6 coax connection from the ISP, then thru the modem internal connections from the modem to the router side of the modem. Any of the 1 thr 4 LAN ports are LAN side connections that you can connect any ethernet device too. LAG should not be enabled by default and only enable if you plan on using LAG for some device that supports it on the LAN side. Otherwise, the LAN ports are standard networking ports for ethernet connected device.
