I purchased new netgear modem and want to use it to run Vonage.

I purchased new new cable modem and want to use it to run Vonage for the phone . When asked to hook the computer up to it to activate, will the computer need to remain attached or just long enough to activate the new modem . I am setting this up for my elderly mother and she has no computer I can use my laptop but cant leave it there it will only be used to run Vonage for the phone..

    Make sure it is activated and browse internet via Cable modem for sometime.

    Reboot the Cable modem to make sure internet is working.

     

    1. Power off the Cable modem. power off the vonage.

    2. Connect vonage behind Cable modme

    3. Power on the just the Cable modem and wait for INTERNET LED to be SOLID GREEN

    4. Power on the vonage and try voice connection works.

     

     

    If you happen to reboot the Cable modem, please reboot both Vonage and Cable modem
